PURPOSE:To achieve quick air cooling by correcting an output from a means for preventing freezing so as to increase a discharge capacity if a larger amount of heat is required for cooling where the output from the means for preventing an evaporator from freezing is used to vary the discharge capacity of a compressor. CONSTITUTION:Where the cooling capacity of an evaporator 11 which is a means for cooling located downstream of a means for air blowing 7 in a temperature controller section 1 is adjusted by controlling the flow of a refrigerant with a capacity actuator 13 incorporated in a compressor 12, the amount of heat needed for cooling is computed by a control circuit section 2. If the computed amount of heat needed is larger than a specified value, an output signal to be sent to the capacity actuator 13 is corrected so that a discharge capacity is increased. Provision is also made to cancel the correction if the freezing of the evaporator 11 is detected. This makes it possible to operate the compressor 12 to its maximum discharge capacity until the evaporator 11 begins to freeze, thereby achieving quick air cooling in a vehicle chamber. |
