A climbing iron incorporates an elongate unit 10 comprising a support part 11 to be arranged on one side of a pole for the support of a climber, and a gripping part 12 integral with the support part to be arranged around at least one portion of the other side of the pole. The unit incorporates a frame 14 which has essentially the same shape as the unit and which is designed with one or several grooves 15 running in the longitudinal direction of the unit, in which groove or grooves a fibre-reinforced plastic is fitted with the fibres arranged in the longitudinal direction of the unit. <IMAGE> |
