A milling and/or drilling machine also suitable for carrying out turning work is described in which the work spindle can be locked by means of a controllable locking device. To this end, the locking device has clamping and blocking members which can be controlled via an actuating piston and can connect the work spindle to the spindle head in a positive and non-positive manner via this locking arrangement.
