<p>Compounds of general formula (I) below are used for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of hypolipaemic conditions and for reducing the concentration of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood of mammals: Alkyl-X-CH2COOR (I) wherein Alkyl represents a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group of from 8-22 carbon atoms, X represents O, S, SO or SO2 and R is hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl, for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of hypolipaemic conditions and for reducing the concentration of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood of mammals.</p> |
