PURPOSE:To prevent toxic gases from emitting in a storage house, by changing the capacity of gaseous carbon dioxide adsorbers with capacity variable changeover valves. CONSTITUTION:A carbon-containing fuel is burned in a combustion furnace 12 to convert oxygen of a gas in a storage house 1 into gaseous carbon dioxide. Air required for combustion is circulated with a blower 14. The capacities of adsorbers 22 and 23 are changed with capacity variable changeover valves 51 and 52 according to the size of the storage house 1. Unnecessary gaseous carbon dioxide is adsorbed and the oxygen concentration in the storage house due to oxygen desorption of the adsorbers is simultaneously prevented from increasing. A gas monitor 45 for sensing a gas atmosphere in the storage house is connected to a means 50 for operating respective parts.
