PURPOSE:To enhance operating efficiency, by re-drawing a metallic plate material to form a closed-end cylindrical body, forming the body into a closed-end cylindrical body with a flange, subjecting the body to a working for forming an angular part and to trimming, and subjecting the top of the work to taper drawing to obtain a ball-pointed pen tip. CONSTITUTION:A closed-end cylindrical body is formed from a metallic band material by a pair of a blanking punch 10 and a blanking die 11 and a pair of a punch 12 and a die 13. The cylindrical body is subjected sequentially to re-drawing and squeezing by a squeezing punch 14 and a squeezing die 15. The work is provided with a flange at an open end thereof by a drawing punch 20 and a drawing die 21, followed again by re-drawing. The work obtained is subjected to a flange-pressing working by a flange-pressing punch 26 and a guide 27. The flange is trimmed by a trimming punch 28 and a trimming die 29, and the closed-end cylindrical body is sized to predetermined dimensions. A taper at the tip of the cylindrical body and a closed end cylindrical body with a tapered tip are sequentially formed by using a guide punch 30, a pressing liner 31, a guide die 32 and a tapering die 33 and using guide punches 38, 50, pressing liners 39, 51 and tapering dies 40, 52, whereby tapering of the tip of a finished ball- pointed pen tip is completed. |
