PURPOSE:To prevent unnecessary printing when paper having a width different from a necessary paper width is set, by a method wherein printing is executed when the width of set paper coincides with an indicated paper width and the paper is discharged when both widths do not coincide with each other. CONSTITUTION:A sensor 24 detects the width of set paper and a CPU 11 receives the paper width command transmitted from a host apparatus 20 to compares the paper width indicated by the paper width command with the paper width detected by the sensor 24. When both paper widths coincide with each other within the predetermined tolerance range determined by the detection accuracy of the sensor 24, the CPU 11 receives the printing data transmitted from the host apparatus 20 to execute printing processing on the basis of said printing data. When both paper widths do not coincide with each other, the CPU 11 discharges paper without executing printing processing and prevents unnecessary printing. |
