PURPOSE:To enhance intraocular retentivity and to provide bio-compatibility, by constituting a support part or both of an optical part and the support part of a core material and an outer layer material. CONSTITUTION:For example, an optical part 1 is formed from silicone rubber and, for example, a core material 4 composed of a plastic material such as polypropylene is embedded in a support 2 having an outer layer material 3 made of the same silicone rubber. This intraocular lens is formed, for example, by a method wherein a wire material composed of a plastic material, for example, polypropylene is used as the core material to be inserted in a mold at a predetermined place and silicone rubber becoming the outer layer material 3 is subsequently poured in the mold to form the optical part 1 and, at the same time, all of the elements are unified. |
