PURPOSE: To easy change a gear for backward driving operation by providing a first backward idler continuously engaged with the teeth of a backward input gear and a second backward idler continuously engaged with a backward output gear. CONSTITUTION: A backward idler shaft 60 is supported at the ends of a transmission room to carry a first sliding backward idler 62 and a second fixed backward idler 64. The sliding backward idler 62 is continuously engaged with a backward input pinion 18 and the fixed backward idler 64 is continuously engaged with a backward output gear 32 formed at the peripheral end of a synchronizer sleeve 34. The fixed backward idler 64 is kept at an axial position by a snap ring 68. |
