PURPOSE:To improve the uniformity of the title film having ionic conductivity by forming a thin film of a mixed soln. contg. Na and Al alkoxides, amines or glycols and alcohols and by converting the soln. into beta-alumina by calcining in an oxidizing atmosphere after drying. CONSTITUTION:A mixed soln. contg. (a) mol Na alkoxides, (b) mol Al alkoxides, (c) mol amines or glycols and (d) mol alcohols is prepd. so as to satisfy inequalities 0.09<=a/(a+b)<=0.2, 0.1<=c/(a+b)<=10 and 0.02<=(a+b)/d<=2. A thin film if the soln. is formed on a heat resistant substrate of silica, etc., by dip coating or other method, dried and calcined preferably at 1,000-1,700 deg.C in an oxidizing atmosphere. |
