PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of static electricity without requiring labor by subjecting on oriented film to a rubbing treatment while humidifying a substrate in a manner as to avoid frost setting in a specific high-humidity atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:The oriented film 41 is subjected to the rubbing treatment by a buff roller 20 while the substrate 40 is kept heated by a hot plate 31 in a manner as to avoid the frost setting in the high-humidity atmosphere of 70-80% RH by using a temp. control booth 10. The immediate transfer to the ensuing stage is possible without making any treatment at all after the rubbing treatment if the substrate 40 is heated in a manner as to avoid the frost setting in this way. The quantity of the static electricity to be generated is large and defects of an electrode 42 by the discharge of the static electricity increase if the humidity is lower than 70% RH. The humidity higher than 80% RH is the case for generation of orientation defects. The generation of the static electricity is thereby prevented without requiring labor. |
