CHARACTER PATTERN GENERATION PROCESSING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To generate character patterns of many kinds of diverse fonts by using the same character pattern constitution information by providing a means which represents character patterns by combinations of constituent elements and changing the shapes of the constituent elements. CONSTITUTION:The means 201 is provided which changes the shapes of basic elements stored in a constituent element shape storage part 202, this means 201 is used to change the shapes of constituent elements, and the constituent elements whose shapes are changed are used to generate optional character patterns. Consequently, only one set (corresponding to one font) of constituent elements which constitute the character patterns is required in principle, and even character patterns of a font which needs to be stored previously can easily be generated only by changing the shapes of the constituent elements at need; and character patterns of many kinds of diverse fonts can be generated.
