A lifting stirrup downwardly directed arm (9) has a grip plate (4) at its free end for engagement around the lower edge part of a carton. A pivotable part (2) is attached to the upper arm and has, at its free end, a similar grip olate (5) which engages the carton edge diagonally opposed to that engaged by the downward arm grip plate. The pivotable part is activated by a pressure spring (7) which strives to press its grip plate against the carton edge. Near the free end of the stirrup upper arm is connected a support component (6). Through the position of the centre of gravity, the lifting device adopts a sloping position during lifting and transport, in which an essential part of the carton weight is taken up by the stirrup downwardly directed arm. |
