PURPOSE:To obtain a flat type electroluminescence(EL) lamp of high mechanical strength by strengthening the lamp section which is held with fingers with a reinforcement member and providing the lamp with such mechanical strength as enough to withstand bending loads generated during the repetition of connection and disconnection to and from a power outlet. CONSTITUTION:An EL lamp is provided with EL luminescent parts 12, 13', 14 and 15, and a connector part 16, and applied with mechanical strength using a reinforcement member so that the lamp will by capable of withstanding a bending load generated due to the repetition of connection and disconnection to and from a power outlet, while the reinforced part of the lamp is held with fingers. According to the aforesaid construction, the EL lamp becomes strong externally and free from breakage, and can be used for the portable purpose. Furthermore, the lamp has strength enough to withstand a load generated during the frequent connection and disconnection thereof to and from the power outlet. In other words an entirely new effect unavailable from a conventional EL lamp is obtained. |
