In these apparatuses, the unit(s) corresponding to the function(s) to be put into service or to be modified are plugged into an electrical circuit including one or more interrupters 4 arranged opposite the same portion, or the same face of the casing of each apparatus. Moreover, with the same apparatus, there is provided a set of several interchangeable plates 5b for display and for programming which are capable of being adapted the one or the other to the casing of this apparatus. The outside face of each of these plates bears different indications 10b, 11b, 12b corresponding to each of the envisaged cases of putting into service, or of modification of one or more functions. With regard to the inside face of these same plates, it bears one or more actuation means 13b able to act on the interrupter(s) 4 corresponding to a put-into-service or modified function, depending on the indications displayed on the outside face of the corresponding plate. These apparatuses can be used to control electrical installations and devices, or installations and devices of any other kind. <IMAGE>
