The invention relates to an electrically controlled rear-view mirror for a vehicle. According to the invention, this rear-view mirror comprises a framework 10 fixed to the vehicle, a casing 1 mounted on the framework so as to be able to pivot about a first axis 4, a mirror 9 housed in a fixed fashion in the casing, and an electric motor 41 housed in a fixed fashion in one of the elements made up of the casing and the framework, and having a drive shaft 42 interacting with the other of the said elements so as to be able to drive the casing 1 rotationally about the said first axis.
