The invention serves for the analytical treatment of an aerosol mixture by the application of the thermodiffusive principle. For this purpose, an uncoated thin-walled stainless steel tube having a constant cross-section is heated directly electrically with the aid of a suitable control circuit. In comparison to the prior art, it is possible in a simpler and more expedient manner to desorb and feed to a detector the substance sorbed to the tube interior wall.
