A release for clutches, having a tubular cylinder (12) disposed coaxially with a release bearing (10), a tubular piston (15) fitted in a tubular working chamber (13) in the cylinder (12), and an annular packing (40) provided in contact with the annular end surface of the piston in the working chamber (13), this working chamber (13) being connected to an external working pressure control unit via a liquid pressure control passage (19), that end portion of the piston (15) which is outside the working chamber (13) being connected axially to the release bearing (10), characterized in that an annular slide member (41) of a hardness higher than that of the packing (40) and a coefficient of friction with respect to the piston (15) lower than that of the packing (40) is fixed to the end surface of the packing (40) which is in contact with the piston (15). |
