PURPOSE: To obtain a composition effective for treating especially pimple and skin carcinoma, having antibacterial action, keratin decomposition, bacteriostatic activity, comprising benzoyl peroxide and a specific quaternary ammonium derivative as active ingredients in a proper medium. CONSTITUTION: This composition is obtained by adding benzoyl peroxide and a quaternary ammonium salt selected from the group consisting of a quaternary ammonium alkyl sulfate and sulfonate as an active ingredients in a proper medium to a physiologically permissible medium (e.g. water or ethanol). Trimethyllaurylammonium and dimethylhydroxyethylcetyl ammonium, etc., may be cited as the especially preferable quaternary ammonium compound. The amount of the quaternary ammonium compound used is 0.01-25wt.%, preferably 0.1-5wt.% based on the weight of the whole composition.
