摘要 PURPOSE:To eliminate the factor limiting the number of reception nodes by simultaneously transmitting plural sets of communication information from each transmission node by means of plural wavelength signals and increasing the number of optical signal levels several times as many as before proportionally to the number of the wavelengths. CONSTITUTION:The communication information from the communication information source 140 of each transmission node 101-10n is simultaneously converted into optical signals with plural wavelengths by means of plural wavelength light emission circuit in accordance with the wavelength pattern assigned to each transmission node and the optical signals are inputted to an optical coupler 120 through plural optical transmission lines 131-13n. The optical signals coupled with each other at the optical coupler 120 are transmitted to reception nodes 111-11N through on optical transmission line 130 and optical couplers 121-12N. Since the number of optical signal levels is increased several times as many as before proportionally to the number of the wavelengths, the number of optical signal levels can be made sufficiently larger even if the number of reception nodes is increased. Therefore, the factor limiting the number of the reception nodes can be eliminated.
