The invention proposes a post/crossmember system for building facades provided with infilling members, which system essentially comprises posts (10) which are to be arranged vertically and parallel to one another and between which crossmembers (11), which open, on the end sides in each case, on the side surfaces of the posts, are to be arranged in an essentially horizontal manner. Abutment and retaining elements (14) for the peripheral sides and front-side border regions of infilling members, e.g. windows, which are to be introduced are arranged in each case on the central region (13, 26) of the front sides of the posts (10) and crossmembers (11). The lateral regions adjoining the central region (13, 26) on either side are configured as abutment surfaces for the rear-side border regions of the infilling members and are provided, at their outer border region (21, 27), with sealing strips (23). The outer border regions (27) of the crossmembers (11) terminate, in the mounted state, on the side surfaces of the posts (10), whereas regions (28), of the crossmembers (11), which are adjacent to these border regions (27) on the inside are arranged in a plane which is offset towards the front and engage over the outer border regions (21) of the posts (10). In this manner, water is reliably prevented from penetrating into the interior of the building, it being possible to use the same sealing strips (23) for the posts and crossmembers, and no milling into the posts, for the purpose of receiving crossmembers, being necessary. <IMAGE>
