In a filter body made of a zigzag-shaped pleated web of a relatively thin-walled filter material which has, both on the intake side and on the airflux side, between the pleat edges, longitudinal beads respectively projecting from the web plane for mutual spacing of the pleats and in which, between the beads of the same pleat surfaces, undeformed planar sections exist, the spacer function of the beads is to be improved with respect to prolonged operation. For this purpose, the beads are shaped in such a way that each intake bead (3) projecting from the filter material web on the intake side converts at its longitudinal sides into a respective airflux bead (4) projecting out of the other side of the filter material web, the identical heights of the airflux beads (4) being smaller than the identical heights of the intake beads (3) and that neighbouring webs lying one above the other each abut each other on the one side with their intake beads and on the other side with their airflux beads. <IMAGE>
