The subject of the invention is a method for handling cargoes in the port, in which method the whole transport craft 5 is lifted in its entirety, laden / unladen, out of the water onto land and moved to the unloading / loading wharf for the cargo in question or is moved from the unloading / loading wharf for the cargo back down into the water by the use of a sloping surface 2, a machinery 3 and a loading bridge 1 with its travelling trolleys 4. In addition, the subject of the invention is a system of devices for applying the method. In the method according to the invention, the laden / unladen craft 5 is placed as a whole in the water on the loading bridge 1 and, supported by travelling trolleys 4 fitted, where necessary, on top of it and by the loading bridge, is moved with its cargo out of the water up onto land, where the laden / unladen transport craft is moved by means of the loading bridge and travelling trolleys to the handling wharf of the cargo in question in the port area. The system of devices according to the invention incorporates a sloping surface 2 extending from the water up onto land, a loading bridge 1, travelling trolleys 3 to be placed on the loading bridge and a machinery 3 for moving the loading bridge. <IMAGE>
