PURPOSE:To print an address on a postal card in an optimum layout by editing address data in a card format of the address, inserting a control code between a surname and an appellation, and automatically determining the disposition of the address on the card according to the number of characters before and after the code. CONSTITUTION:Character data input from an input unit 1 is transmitted to a character editor 41 by an input controller 40, edited by the editor 41, and output to a character row editor 42. The editor 42 edits an address item. When an address print is selected, address data is extracted from address data storage unit 44 in a print data extractor 50, data necessary for printing is output, and output to a print data editor 51. The editor 51 edits the data by counting the numbers of the characters of a surname and appellation, referring to the matrix table of address control table 45 with the data, converting the character data to print data according to conditions, setting it to print buffer 53, driving a printer 3 by a print controller 52 similarly to the address, and printing it out. |
