PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic alloy having relatively high saturation magnetic flux density and reduced in magnetostriction by providing a composition which contains Fe and B as principal components and to which specific percentages of Cu and separately selected one or more kinds among the respectively specified elements of other dissimilar two groups are added in combination. CONSTITUTION:An Fe-base magnetic alloy has a composition represented by formula I shown by atomic%, where M means Co and/or Ni, A means Cu and/or Ni, M' means one or more elements selected from Nb, Ta, Zr, Hf, Ti, and Mo, and X means one or more elements selected from Ge, Ga, C, and Al and, further, the symbols (a), (x), (alpha), (z), and (gamma) stand for 0-0.3, 0.1-10, 0.1-30, 5-17, and <=20, respectively. The above alloy has a structure in which fine crystalline grains comprise at least 50% and also has an average grain size in which the average of grain sizes measured in terms of the maximum sizes is regulated to <=1,000Angstrom . Moreover, alloys having compositions represented by formula II are also applicable. In the formula II, M'' means elements selected from V, Cr, Mn, platinum group elements, Au, etc., and the symbol (beta) stands for <=10. |
