The remote control consists of a filter, a decoder and an output element which controls a switch. The switch connects a source of electricity from the input to the output of the device. The whole is contained in a casing which plugs in to the source by a male plug. The part to which an appts. is connected is a female socket. The remote control signal is in the voice band circa 175 Hz and is passed through a 50 Hz high pass filter. The decoder is a microprocessor. The output element is a bistable relay whose contacts form the switch. The output may be fused. Manual operation is provided by a push button. One of four channels can be selected. ADVANTAGE - Is portable and can control electrical appts. without being installed.
