PURPOSE: To manufacture a car body having various aesthetic appearances to the same sub-structure by providing a composite structure comprising a sub-structure of lower dimensional accuracy and a finishing structure made of a synthetic resin supported on the sub-structure. CONSTITUTION: In a door post, a sub-structure 10 is made by a metal sheet. A formed article 11 is made by a plastic molding method. The formed article 11 is positioned in a supporting member 12. A tape film of a thermal expansion adhesive is locally applied to the sub-structure 10. An assembly comprising the supporting member 12 and the formed article 11 is accurately positioned on the sub-structure 10 and heated. When the adhesive 13 is heated, it is expanded to fill up a gap between the sub-structure 10 and the formed article 11, and the formed article 11 is pressed to the support 12 to be mutually fitted. |
