<p>Arylmethanesulfonylureas and arylsulfonylureas of the formula <CHEM> wherein J is an arylmethyl or aryloxy group; R is H or CH3; and A is a mono- or bicylic heterocyclic group, e.g. pyrimidyl or triazinyl; and their agriculturally suitable salts, exhibit herbicidal activity. Some of these compounds may also be used as plant growth regulants. The compounds may be formulated for use in conventional manner. They may be synthesised by a variety of routes, e.g. by reacting a sulfonyl isocyanate JSO2NCO with an appropriate heterocyclic amine H @A. h</p> |
