<p>PURPOSE:To gradually lower a respiration amount of a perishable food without exerting a strain on the physiological action of the perishable food, by a method wherein with a storage chamber cooled, temperature in a storage chamber attains a specified value, and after lapse of a specified time, carbon dioxide is introduced to the interior of a storage chamber to increase carbon dioxide concentration, and oxygen concentration is decreased. CONSTITUTION:When through the working of a cooling unit 2, a temperature of a storage chamber 1 is decreased to a set value, a thermostat 14 is actuated by means of a heat-sensitive part 15, and simultaneously switches 18 and 19 are actuated by means of a coil 17, and a timer 20 is actuated by means of the switch 19. When a specified time elapses by means of the timer 20, a contact 21 of the timer is actuated, a heater 13 and a blower 4 are run, and a gas feed unit 7 is actuated. The storage chamber 1 is cooled by a cooling unit 2 simultaneously with actuation of an operation starting switch, a temperature in the storage chamber 1 is reduced to a set value. After further lapse of a specified time, the gas feed unit 7 is actuated, carbon dioxide is introduced to the storage chamber 1, carbon dioxide concentration is increased, and oxygen concentration is decreased. When an operation starting switch 9 is turned OFF, the cooling unit 2 and the gas feed unit 7 are also brought into a stop.</p> |
