The wooden crate is assembled from modified handling pallets e.g. for use with forks lift trucks. One pallet (1) forms the base of the crate and two sides (3,3') are formed by slotting in additional pallets. The corners (4) of the support beams (2) are cut to form an interlocking joint. A fourth pallet (10) may be placed on top of the two sides to form a cover. End panels may be made up of slatted wooden planks to fit between the side walls to fully enclose the crate. The end panels have metal brackets which locate over the top edges of the side panels. When not in use, the component parts may be dissassembled and stacked up. ADVANTAGE - The crate is easy to assemble using standard wooden pallets.
