<p>Process for producing 1-(acylaminoalkyl)-2-imidazolines substituted in the 2 position, of general formula (I), where R is an alkylene residue and R1 a fatty acid residue, in which, for example, a fatty acid and a dialkylenetriamine in a molar ratio of (1.8 to 2.25):1 are reacted by adding, to one educt at a temperature T¿1?, the second educt in liquid form. The reaction mixture is maintained at a temperature T1 during the addition and at a temperature T2 after the addition until the onset of cyclization. The resulting water or resulting alcohol is removed by distillation using a rectification column and cyclization is carried out in a manner known per se after the formation of the acylation product. T1 is a temperature between 170°C and the boiling point of the first educt, but not greater than 250°C, and T2 is a temperature between 170 and 250°C.</p> |
