A method for continuous spiral spooling of a strand-shaped substrate, in particular a cable or conductor, with a band or the like is described, as well as a device suitable for this. While a band winding disc 14a, which is situated on a first support 14, is continuously drawn off, a feeding band winding disc 16a is produced on a stocking-up support 16 and transferred onto the support 14 shortly before the band winding disc 14a runs empty.
