PURPOSE:To eliminate a labor such that a person judges form data from paper or a printing error based on erroneous judgement, by providing a form indication part to the rear of printing paper at the predetermined position thereof to read the same on the side of a printer and controlling printing on the basis of the read form data. CONSTITUTION:A form indication part 12 for indicating the form of a printing surface is provided to the rear of printing paper 11 at the predetermined position thereof. A printer 21 is equipped with a form reading device 24 for reading a form from the form indication part 12 of the printing paper 11 and a control circuit 25 operates a paper feed mechanism 23 and a printing head 22 on the basis of the read form data to automatically perform paper feed up to a cueing position on the basis of the form indication part 12 and executes printing according to an indicated left blank, the number of characters of one line and a line feed pitch. By this method, the positioning of the printing paper 11 prior to starting printing or the preset striking of an indicated place relying only on the intuition of an operator heretofore can be automated. |
