<p>PURPOSE:To enhance operational efficiency of a compressor by setting auxiliary vanes, which slide axially of an impeller, between the impeller and stationary vanes and setting a whorl developing means which develops whorls in association with the movement of the auxiliary vanes. CONSTITUTION:An impeller 3 is rotatably set downstream inside a suction casing 2. Inserted between the impeller 3 and stationary vanes 5 are auxiliary vanes 11 which have chord lengths smaller than those of the stationary vanes 5 and slide axially of the impeller 3. Plural inlet vanes 20 are arranged inside the suction casing 2. By turning control arms 21, the inlet vanes 20 and the auxiliary vanes 11 are actuated in association. In the above-mentioned fashion, prevention of a surge and reduction of pressure loss are realized over a wide operational range thereby to enable an operation with a high efficiency.</p> |
