FRAME TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

摘要

PURPOSE:To send a frame with a length up to the maximum capacity of a shared storage device by storing once a frame having an information field to the storage device shared by a host processor at the outside of a communication controller and a communication controller once among frames generated and sent autonomously by the communication controller. CONSTITUTION:A direct memory access controller(DMAC) 16 and a line control section 14 coupled together by exclusive transmission/reception path are provided in the communication controller 1 and the information generated and sent autonomously by the communication controller 1 is stored to the shared storage device 3 with the host processor 2 once and it is read by the DMAC 16. Then the frame is subjected to DMA transfer through paths 103, 105 exclusive for transmission to send it to the line control section 14 and sent to a called system. Thus, a long frame having an information field is sent without increasing the hardware quantity required for the communication controller 1 and the processing load of a micro CPU 11.
