784,183. Circlips.AKTIEBOLAGET URFABRIKEN. Sept. 7, 1955 [Sept. 10, 1954], No. 25689/55. Class 89(2) [Also in Group XXIV] Means for removably mounting a member such as the spool 4 of a fishing-reel on a shaft 1, comprises, a locking-spring 13 having at least one leg 13b, Fig. 2, extending transversely of the shaft to engage directly in a peripheral groove 3 therein, and a push-member 16 guided coaxially with the shaft and having at least one wedge-shaped extension 20 adapted to bend, the leg 13b of the spring away from the shaft when the push-member is displaced axially. The locking-spring 13 is located in a chamber 12 defined by the bottom of a recess 7 in the spool hub 5 and a disc 11, and comprises a medialportion 13a of circular shape and two straight legs 13b disposed on opposite sides of the shaft. The push-member 16 extends through a hood 14 fixed against the cylindrical wall of the recess 7 and through a central hole 19 in the disc 11. The lowerportion of the push-member is shaped to form two wedge-shaped portions 20 which engage between the straight legs 13b of the locking-spring. A spring 18 urges the push-member upwardly so that a retaining flange 17 thereon abuts the inside of the hood 14. The upper end 2 of the shaft is conical and bends the legs 13b away from each other when the spool is pushed on to the shaft. A transverse pin 9 on the shaft engages in a transverse groove 8 in the spool-hub to prevent relative rotation. In a modified construction the locking-spring has only one leg engaging the groove 3 in the shaft and is retained in position by a circular portion thereof engaging a groove in the cylindrical wall of the recess 7. The hub is keyed to the shaft. |
