PURPOSE:To provide a significant corrosion preventing effect to a marine steel structure by interposing a metallic material having lower electric potential than steel between the structure and a sealing member when the surface of the structure is successively coated with the sealing member and a protective cover. CONSTITUTION:Steel sheet piles 3 are assembled into a marine steel structure by coupling the joining parts 5 and the surfaces of the piles 3 on the sea side are coated with mastic 2 so as to hold zinc sheets 6 at the flat parts and zinc nets 7 at the remaining parts having a complex shape near the coupled parts. Each gap between the joining parts 5 is sealed up by filling petrolactam putty 2'' contg. zinc powder. The mastic 2 is then coated with a protective cover 1 and bolts 4, 4' are tightened to press-bond the mastic 2 to the zinc sheets 6 and the zinc nets 7 through the protective cover 1. Water tightness is eusured and the corrosion preventing effect of the steel sheet piles 3 is considerably enhanced. |
