Dermatological and cosmetic bases contain hydrated lipidic lamellar phases, or liposome vesicles, contg. a nitrogenous cpd. esp. an amino acid, an oligo- or polypeptide, a protein, or their derivs. are disclosed. Nitrogenous cpds. may be glycine, alanine, valine, leucine, isoleucine, serine etc., 2-mercapto thiohistidine, and thanolamine. Such cpds. may be obtd. from blood or blood fractions, placental material, amniotic fluid, milk, biliary liquids, yeasts, bacteria and vegetable matter.. Liq. phase may contain phospholipids, cerebrosides, sphingolipids, cephalins, phosphoaminolipids, cerebroglucosides, gangliosides, opt. combined with natural or synthetic cholesterol. It constitues 10-60%, esp. 20-50% of the total compsn. USE - The compsns. have a moisturising, nourishing, tissue regenerating, and growth stimulating effect on the dermal and epidermal cells, and on ahir roots, and they accelerate tanning.
