摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the necessity of moving an optical card having a large planar shape so as to reduce the size and thickness of an optical card recorder and reproducing device by fixing the optical card to a prescribed position and moving an optical head against the card. CONSTITUTION:An optical feeding mechanism is a mechanism which moves an optical head 13 against an optical card 3 in the longitudinal and transversal directions of the card 3 in a box body 2 and is provided with a longitudinal direction feeding mechanism 14 and transversal direction feeding mechanism 15. When the optical card 3 is fixed to a prescribed position in the box body 2, at which the card 3 covers a reading hole 4, with the recording surface downward, the optical head 13 is moved leftward at an almost fixed speed by means of a motor 22 and the information signal in the corresponding recording area 3a of the card 3 is read. Therefore, when the optical head 13 having a relatively smaller planar shape than the optical card 3 is moved, necessary information on the card 3 can be read. Therefore, this device can be miniaturized and even an optical card on which plural recording areas are formed in stripes can be coped with.</p>
