PURPOSE:To automatically position an irradiation point with CO2 laser beam at a focus position even when the position of a region to be irradiated is changed, by operating a means for moving the objective optical system of an observation optical system in an optical axis direction to regulate a focus in connection with a means for moving a CO2 laser optical system to adjust the irradiation position with laser beam with respect to the region to be irradiated. CONSTITUTION:When the irradiation with CO2 laser beam L1 with respect to a region A to be irradiated is finished and the CO2 laser beam L1 is allowed to irradiate a region B to be irradiated, the lens holding cylinder 19 of an objective optical system 16 is moved in the direction shown by an arrow (a). The first pinion 23 is rotated in the direction shown by an arrow (b) through a rack 22 and the second pinion 24 is rotated in the direction shown by an arrow (c). A holding member 26 is rotated with the rotation of the second pinion 24 and a CO2 laser guide 18 is revolved and displaced. Therefore, the lens holding cylinder 19 is moved and, when a focus F is positioned at the region B to be irradiated, the CO2 laser guide 18 is also revolved to the position shown by a broken line and the emitting end 18a thereof is opposed to the focus F of the part B to be irradiated. The CO2 laser beam L1 emitted from the CO2 laser guide 18 is emitted while the region B to be irradiated is observed by an observation optical system 17. |
