PURPOSE:To produce large driving torque and to reduce abrasion, by constituting a friction member as a mold of compound of organic macromolecular material and fluororesin. CONSTITUTION:In an ultrasonic motor, vibrating section is formed by adhering a resilient vibrating body 2 made of metal to the surface of a piezoelectric body 1. The vibrating body 2 is provided with protruding segments 12a for facilitating mechanical vibration of the vibrating section and for increasing the amplitude. The moving section is formed by securing a friction member 4 made of composite material of organic macromolecular material and fluoresin to the operating face of the moving body 3 and bringing the surface thereof into contact with the surface of the vibrating body 2. Traveling wave is produced upon application of high frequency field onto the piezoelectric body 1, and the moving body 3 is driven frictionally. Since the friction member 4 is made of the material, driving performance of the moving body 3 is improved and large torque can be produced. |
