Small atlas with searching aid

A multipurpose atlas which is very clear and nevertheless contains a great number of individual pieces of information is easy and safe to handle and makes possible rapid identification of all destinations, in particular also those necessary for rescue services. This small atlas has an associated searching aid, which is connected detachably to the cover or individual sheets, in the form of a transparent searching strip which is of the length and/or the width of the individual map. This searching strip is equipped with searching-aid lines which constitute a uniform destination grid producing searching boxes of the same format, the searching boxes being dimensioned in such a manner that they are visible at a glance in each case for an overflying helicopter or aeroplane. As a result, such a small atlas can be used not only by a normal citizen but also by the rescue service, for example to be able rapidly to identify and fix the destination area or the destination point of an accident to which they are being called, in order then to optimise the flight plan accordingly. <IMAGE>
