PURPOSE:To obtain an oxide superconducting material which is inexpensive, has a wide solid soln. range, large critical current, is excellent in moisture resistance, stability, etc., and is oriented in the C-face by hot extruding the oxide superconducting material of an alkaline earth metal-Bi-copper-oxygen system from a nozzle having a rectangular shape. CONSTITUTION:The oxide superconducting material oriented in the C-face is obtd. by mixing 3 kinds of oxides including an alkaline earth metal (e.g.; Ca, Ba), bismuth and copper at prescribed ratios, subjecting the mixture to tentative calcining, grinding, molding and calcining, then hot extruding the mixture from the nozzle having the rectangular shape to orient the same. The superconducting characteristics are additionally improved by making combination use of an element (e.g.; Sr, Ba) having >=1 Angstrom ion radius and element (e.g.; Mg, Ca) having <=1 Angstrom ion radius as the alkaline earth metal. |
