PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a driver for a piezo actuator by detecting charging/discharging currents flowing to the actuator and charging/discharging circuits, and detecting as a malfunction of the driver when the current does not arrive at a predetermined level. CONSTITUTION:A driver is composed of a high voltage generator 130 for generating a high voltage for driving the piezo actuator 91 of a shock absorber, and 4 charging/discharging circuits 140 for applying a high voltage from the generator 130 to the actuator 91 by a control signal output from each absorber from a CPU to elongate it and discharging the stored charge to contract the actuator 91. The generator 130 is composed of a triangular wave generator 130a, a pulse width converter 130b, a booster 130c and an overcurrent detector 130d. The circuits 140 are composed of a charging/discharging switching circuit 140a, and a detector 140b for detecting a malfunction on the basis of the discharging current. |
