摘要 PURPOSE:To enable a high-gradation recording, to reduce the irregularities the amount of an ink to be discharged, to facilitate a color recording, and to contrive a high-speed recording, by a method wherein a supply means for supplying a melting ink, which is heated and melted by a heating means, to a discharge port by a fixed amount is located in the vicinity of the discharge port. CONSTITUTION:With a Coulomb's force occurring between a plurality of electrodes 8 and a counter electrode 2 by a voltage application to both the electrodes 8 and 2, a melting ink is attracted to be discharged from a discharge port 1a. The electric field strength between both the electrodes 8, 2 is suitably changed by controlling the applied voltage, whereby the amount of a melting ink to be discharged from the discharge port 1a can be continuously changed, and a density gradation in recording dots can be accomplished by an area gradation method. With the constant speed rotation of a roller 4, a melting ink applied to the periphery of the roller 4 by a surface tension is forcibly supplied to the discharge port 1a by a predetermined amount, whereby the amount of the ink to be discharged from the discharge port 1a by a discharge drive means SD is always kept approximately constant. In this manner, a high-quality image is made available, and a high-speed recording is permitted.
