<p>PURPOSE: To provide an increased life for a gas agitating device, a hearth, and a furnace bottom by a method wherein an agitating device is arranged at a permanent lining and a deflecting plate is arranged at a wear lining above the agitating device. CONSTITUTION: A permanent lining 3 of refractory bricks closely assembled together is positioned on a furnace bottom plate 2. A furnace bottom wear lining 4 of a refractory ramming mass is arranged on a permanent lining 3. A furnace bottom refractory brick 6 having an opening part 6a is inserted in the permanent lining 3 wherein the refractory bricks are closely assembled together. An agitation gas small pipe 5 is extended through an opening part 2a of a furnace bottom plate 2 to the internal part of the opening part 6a of the furnace bottom brick 6 from below. A deflecting plate 8 is arranged in the wear lining 4 above the furnace bottom brick 6. Agitation gas is fed through a feed pipe 9 to the gas small pipe 5 and flows in the wear lining 4 and evenly distributed on the surface of the wear lining 4 by the deflecting plate 8. The gas flows in a molten metal 12 and an agitation spot 13 is formed on the surface thereof. When agitation gas flows through the wear lining 13, the refractory ramming material is cooled. This constitution provides an increased life for a hearth.</p> |
