COMPOSITION FOR SEPARATING GAS

PURPOSE:To recover CO at high yield by mixing a reactive mixture which is obtained by mixing copper compd. with benzoins and/or ascorbic acids in a solvent with another reactive mixture which is obtained by mixing palladium compd. with alkenes in the solvent and thereby preparing the composition for separating gas. CONSTITUTION:A reactive mixture A is obtained by mixing copper compd. such as copper formate with benzoins such as benzoin and/or ascorbic acids in a solvent such as N-methyl imidazole. Further a reactive mixture B is obtained by mixing palladium compd. such as PdCl2 with alkenes such as ethylene in the solvent such as acetonitrile. The composition for separating gas is obtained by mixing both reactive mixtures. CO is absorbed at high efficiency and separated from the other gasses by holding this composition for separating gas on a membrane.
