For the purpose of quickly finding one's bearings in the dark, a rod-shaped pocket lamp (1) with a ring (2) of polyethylene is provided, which is prepared using a permanently fluorescing fluorescent cover. In portable lamps or pocket lamps with other forms of housing, the fluorescent ring is matched to the respective housing circumference, and can also be formed by the shell of a base sealing- cap.
