PURPOSE: To improve safety by providing a means to allow over-motion of a remote cable without displacing a shift lever after motion of the shift lever controlling normal/inverse rotation of a propeller shaft, and a means to cut engine ignition at the time of releasing a clutch member. CONSTITUTION: A propulsion device 11 for a vessel is provided with a reversible transmission device 37 between a drive shaft 35 and a propeller shaft 31 of a propulsion unit 13, and this can be shifted to neutral, forward, and backward positions by displacing a clutch member 45 through a shift lever 51. In this case, a shift member 83 capable of oscillation around a pivotal shaft 85 is provided in the middle of a remote means including a lever controller 61 and a cable 63 to allow an over-process of an inner core 67 of the cable 63 after shift motion of the shift lever 51. On the shift member 83, a switch plate 141 having a cam groove hole 145 with which a follower 101 is engaged is provided to be freely capable of relative motion, and an electric switch 161 is actuated when a clutch is released to temporarily cut engine ignition. |
