In a slide projector a control device (4) for the slide-changing device (8, 11, 20, 27), at least one projection device (1), an electronic switching device (2) and a slide magazine (3) are constructed as separate components and can be assembled to form a slide projector. The slide-changing device can be moved optionally to each slide slot (3a) in the slide magazine (3) in a computer-controlled manner by means of the electronic switching device (2). The slide-changing device is formed by a pivoting head (8), arranged on the top side of the control device (4), which supports a pivoting arm (11) which extends in the horizontal direction over the projection device (1) and over the slide magazine (3). A slide-transporting head (20), provided with a slide gripper (27), which can be moved to and fro over the entire length of the pivoting arm (11) from the slide slots (3a) to the opening of the fall shaft (drop shaft) is guided on the pivoting arm. The pivoting head (8), together with the pivoting arm (11) and the slide-transporting head (20), can be both rotated in the horizontal direction and lifted and lowered in the vertical direction. <IMAGE>
